Drumline

From Duke Band

Jump to: navigation, search

The drumline of the Duke University Marching and Pep band is an elite corps of individuals assembled for the goal of percussive and social excellence. Under the leadership of Amy Savage the drumline attains a level of excellence normally reserved for groups practicing many more hours than we do.

As students of Duke University every individual on the drumline works hard in school and then plays hard on the field. Our high expectations apply to everything we do, from our studies to our participation in band activities. From dressing up in pink (including pink sports bras and shorts) for capture the flag to shiny blue sequin vests for broomball we go all out in everything we do. To quote a former section leader, we always "leave it all on the field."

We arrive early and we stay late. We are the heart, the soul, the pulse...whatever you want to call it. If we are bad, the band is bad. If we are good, the band is almost always good. Good thing we are NEVER bad.
